David Wright: Decision Over Mets Future Probably Won’t Come Down To Cash

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – We’ve seen it before. For many MLB stars, cash talks.
But not for third baseman David Wright, who told the New York Post that the “money issue” probably won’t be “the deciding factor” as he heads into extension talks this offseason with the Mets.
For Wright, the decision over his future could come down to his chances of winning a championship.
“You want to be able to win, and I’ve only experienced a little bit of that here,” he told the Post. “In a perfect world, we get this thing turned around and going in the right direction and ultimately I get to experience the bad, the ugly and the good here, which includes winning.”
Wright is in the final season of a six-year, $55 million deal with New York, which includes a $16 million team option for 2013.
