Giants Sweep Tigers, Win The World Series

DETROIT (97.1 THE TICKET/AP) - A two-out RBI single by Marco Scutaro broke a three-all tie in the tenth inning and the San Francisco Giants beat the Detroit Tigers 4-3 in Game 4 and sweep the 2012 Major League Baseball World Series four games to none.

As heard on 97.1 The Ticket - the Tigers were held scoreless through 20 innings when Miguel Cabrera hammered a two-run shot off of Cain in the third inning. Cabrera gave the Tigers their first lead in the World Series.

AL Triple Crown winner Cabrera and San Francisco’s Buster Posey also homered, marking the first time both reigning batting champions went deep in the same Series game.  (Read related story: Cabrera’s Homer Not Enough For Tigers.)
